Age: 26
Job Title: Service Charge Analyst
I’ve been with the company: Since January 2006
Background: Previously worked as an accountant for eight years. After leaving college with an AAT qualification he worked in private accounting firms, retail outlets and private health clubs.
My Role:
I manage service charges in the service charge administration department of PSL.
My daily work involves carrying out audits on buildings. I am currently carrying out audits for 50 buildings on behalf of the Royal Bank of Scotland. These audits enable me to identify any issues concerning the buildings which helps me to assess any cost saving benefits that might be available to the client. Ensuring clients pay a fair and reasonable amount of service charges is a fundamental part of PSL business practice.
My clients include the Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds, Metcom Training and BT.
What’s it like to work here:
I learn new things on a regular basis, it’s not just a job that you do, day-in and day-out with the same repetitive tasks and outcomes. Each building that I am working on has different outcomes and recommendations assigned to it.
My job is not always office based and I occasionally visit clients which helps me build and sustain good relationships with them; I find this stimulating as I am a people-orientated person.
The team is efficient and everyone is very focused and motivated but at the same time the atmosphere is relaxed. The fact that everyone achieves the overall objectives of the business together shows a committed and dedicated workforce.
I enjoy working in a challenging environment because this keeps me motivated. I am ambitious and get a lot of satisfaction from achieving quality through hard work.
In my Spare time:
In my spare time I like to keep active. I play squash as often as possible and also enjoy running, mountain biking and snow boarding. Socialising with friends is also important to me.
