Name:
Ray Edwards
Job Title: Service Charge Consultant
Age: 35
I have been with the company:
I joined PSL ten months ago at the end of May 2006.
Background:
After leaving school I worked for eight years in accounting, both in an accounting practice and the motor trade and gained my AAT qualification. I then spent the next eight years working in distribution, initially in operations for two years and then systems management for the next six years.
My Role:
I provide consultancy work within the Service Charge Consultancy team.
My role involves reviewing service charges for clients in conjunction with the terms of a client’s lease to ensure all service charges are in accordance with the terms of the lease and identify areas of high cost or concern. This work is done via a combination desktop reviews and site visits to understand the nature of each building being looked at.
In addition I liaise with the client and Managing Agent to propose changes to the services provided to give the same or greater level of service at a reduced cost to our client.
My clients include, WPP, RBS.
What’s it like to work here:
I find working at PSL incredibly rewarding and there is a great team working atmosphere and everyone is focused on providing quality work for our clients.
I enjoy the challenge of achieving results for clients and this keeps me motivated day-to-day and each project is unique so I am continually learning.
In my spare time:
I enjoy reading, cooking, mountain biking, playing pool, but mostly I am involved with a carnival club in Devon so spend eight months of the year building and then four months touring numerous Devon and Somerset illuminated carnivals in the autumn.
