The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is one of the most respected and high profile global standards and membership organisations for property professionals. RICS are an independent voice for property, accountable to both RICS members and the public.
Loughborough University
Property Solutions have worked closely with Loughborough and Dr John R Calvert since 2003 in the collection, analysis and reporting of service charge data through the publication of the Loughborough Report. The annually updated Loughborough Report is the most comprehensive investigation into the cost of service charges, the management and delivery of services in multi-let offices and is the only benchmark of compliance with the RICS Code of Practice for Service Charges in commercial property.
London Business School
Two studies have been undertaken by teams of MBA students from London Business School to ascertain and analyse the views of industry stakeholders including landlords, tenants, agents, RICS members and others. The purpose of this research is to determine an agreed way forward for the industry to achieve improvements in the management of office buildings and service charges.
Kingston University
Property Solutions is working closely with members of faculty of Kingston University to provide access to data for research into issues relating to the treatment of service charges, sinking funds and associated tax concerns in the published accounts of major landlords who are public companies.
University of Bath School of Management
The University of Bath School of Management is one of the UK's top business schools. Property Solutions is a corporate partner with Bath University and takes a succession of Business School students on six month placements to assist with service charge research activities. Additionally Property Solutions is running a series of separate research projects with teams of Business School final year students.

Investment Property Databank
The updated Loughborough Service Charge Study, sponsored by Property Solutions, was launched at The Investors Property Databank's (IPD) annual UK Conference in Brighton on 9th November 2005. The pre-conference seminar was entitled "Occupational Therapy". There were eight speakers from a broad spectrum of the commercial property industry, including Dr John Calvert of Loughborough University, who gave presentations covering a range of landlord and tenant issues. These included "The Impact of Tenant Satisfaction on Investment Performance" and "The Trouble With Service Charges".
