Property Solutions, in partnership with Kingston University, produces a new benchmarking report, focusing on service charge costs and transparency of service charge documents in commercial property.
SCOR for Offices 2011/12 is now available and provides a detailed analysis of service charge costs for 323 large scale multi-let buildings across the UK, including a longitudinal analysis of individual cost categories and comparison between air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned buildings.
The report also makes recommendations for landlords to adopt a score for every building based on compliance with the basic requirements of the RICS Code in relation of preparation and issuance of service charge documents. The Service Charge Management Compliance Score will provide tenants with an indication of the way the service charges are managed and administered for a commercial building.
