Property Solutions launches new service charge audit product

Property Solutions are proud to introduce a new service charge audit product this winter.

April 2007 brought the introduction of the RICS Code of Compliance at a time when service charges were becoming the next hot issue. This stance hasn’t changed, despite evidence of compliance to this new code. Service charges continue to be the principle cause of dissatisfaction amongst tenants’ (Occupier Satisfaction Index 2009) and with slow speed of compliance and clear evidence of poor performance in relation to the code, it is easy to see why.

When dealing with service charges, occupiers need to see certain standards fulfilled:

  • a clear need for independent benchmarking
  • transparency in how costs have been allocated; good, accurate, timely accounts
  • a service that is not only efficient, but also cost effective, leading to greater transparency
  • a professional and customer focused delivery
  • service charge audits
